Akron moved the ball, but a couple costly mistakes and an inability to stop Tyler Sheehan's passing attack led to a 36-20 Bowling Green win.
With tonight's loss, Akron's record is 2-9. I'll have more on the game tomorrow.

N.C. State shot 65 percent in the Wolfpac's 66-45 win over Akron, which shot only 31 percent from the field.
Humpty Hitchens led Akron with 10 points. Zeke Marshall was 1-for-6 from the field, scoring two and grabbing four rebounds.
The Zips play again Saturday at 1:15 p.m. as the Glenn Wilkes Classic from Daytona Beach, Fla., continues.

Despite the loss, I thought Nicely took another step forward tonight. Most of his passes looked pretty much on target. I just cringed every time he ran the ball and/or got hit. His future certainly does look bright.
On the hardwood, I guess its safe to say I've now been disappointed twice in two games. I wasn't sure if the Zips would pull of a win tonight or not but I sure didn't see a 21-point loss in the offing either. It is time to get it turned around now. With all these people back this shouldn't be a situation where we need time to gel or gain much cohesiveness. Now, lets just hope the guys come back from Daytona Beach with a .500 record and a two game winning streak.
Any farther word on when Steward will be ready? I don't think many fans realize how good he can be yet.
Steward played in the 2nd half against NC ST. According to the substitute announcer anyway.
Dambrot's right. Forget the at-large bid (not that there was every a shred of hope….we're the MAC, not the Horizon League, after all). Winning the actual MAC tourney in March is our only hope of postseason action. Maybe these guys have been reading their press clippings a little too much?
As for the gridders….yeeeesh.
Nice blog post heading Rasor, you're a goof.
I just got 4 GA tickets in the mail for the Eastern game on Friday(free for season ticket holders. Whatcha think the crowd will be at that one?.
