The Zips finished their only preseason tournament with a 69-52 win over Howard.
Akron held Howard to 35 percent shooting. Nik Cvetinovic and Chris McKnight led Akron with 13 points apiece. Steve McNees added six assists and three steals.
Akron's next game is home against Arkansas-Pine Bluff at 7 p.m. It is the beginning of a streak of nine home games out of the next 11.

Good to see the Zips starting to play more like we know they can. I still don't know that I'd call that event a tournament though. I want to see the Zips get into real tournaments where your results determine who you play every year.
Looking forward to this stretch of games before the MAC begins.
I need to check out that senior superstar that Elton Alexander wrote about, what's his name? Jimmy something? How's he doing?
