We only know; there is an investigation, he got suspended, then he resigned. Anything else, you are just guessing. I don't care about "speaks volumes" and "suggested." I just want the facts, not your opinions. Help us Mike.

You can be sure that when the NCAA called, the university did some fast investigation of its own to see if what the NCAA was investigating had any merit. The fact that they immediately suspended the coach speaks volumes. The fact that he subsequently quit says even more. Basically, they peeled back the onion and didn't like what they found. By suspending him — and ultimately "suggesting" he resign — they are trying to limit the penalty from the NCAA.

Nobody wants to blame anybody Joe. We just want the facts. To use phrases like "it's pretty clear.." seems premature. Nothing is clear, that is why I would like to see Mike ask some questions. Also you use the word "guilty," has there been a ruling? What happen to innocent until provin' guilty? Sounds like you have your mind made up what happen already. I just want some facts. Your probably right, I don't understand the process, I hope Mike can help me understand.

Regarding the investigation, please note that Akron did not "self-report" this alleged violation — the university was notified by the NCAA that it was the subject of an investigation. Therefore, not likely to hear anything until the NCAA makes a ruling. It's pretty clear, however, that the university did find enough in the NCAA's notice that the coach was guilty; there's no other reason for them to have suspended him and for him to have quit.

Those who want to blame it on a new AD who is looking for scapegoats just don't understand the process — the NCAA detected the violation, not the university.

As a retired Parole Officer I resent being compared to ANYONE on the Akron staff,its insulting to P.O.'s(lol). Actually I do resent the comparison. What I did was much more important to society than being a football coach! Akron is only 'ahead' of Miami in the power rankings. Get serious.
Temple is NOT the '2nd' best team in the MAC. That is either WMU or NIU.
