Seven Zips earn spot on All-MAC teams

Football

Akron had seven All-MAC players in 2008.

    The list…

    First teamChris Kemme
Second teamDennis Kennedy and Kevin Grant
Third teamAndre Jones, Deryn Bowser, Almondo Sewell and Bryan Williams (defense and special teams)

I think the voters got it all wrong on Akron's offensive line. Give the guards more credit and Kemme less. I would also argue for Kennedy instead of James Starks on the first team. I'm also surprised to see Willams get an honor for his defense. He was a nonfactor most games.

Totally agree concerning Kennedy, he busted his butt all year long.

BOWSA!

Nice to see Grant get his due. Lemon probably could have made at least third team if he wasn't benched the first quarter or half of the last several games…

What about Niagara?

That's whack. Kemme a break. As much as I bashed the slow-footed Kennedy last year, he was amazing this season….a simply remarkable turnaround. Speedy and effective, a first-teamer. Bowser a third-team pick? Only for that KSU catch, because otherwise, as previously noted, he dropped a ton of easy passes.
