ESPN.com ranks basketball prestige

ESPN.com put together a formula to rank the 300 Division I basketball programs.

Akron is No. 177. Miami leads the MAC at No. 53. Kent State is 82nd.

    Interesting, I wonder what criteria they use because if you look at the NCAA statistics, Akron as a team is number 49 all time by winning percentage:

    Akron - .602
    Miami - .553
    Kent - .473

    I'm sure the last 20 years weights in more heavily and the fact that Akron has only been to 1 NCAA tournament (in division 1) is also a big factor.

    Surprised that Miami is that high, and Kent is that low. I'm thinking Miami is because of their success in 90s. If that's the case, wouldn't Kent's success in the 00's have them higher than 82nd?
