Taylor traded to Redskins

Akron's most famous alumnus went from cellar-dweller to playoff team when the Washington Redskins acquired Jason Taylor in exchange for a second- and sixth-round pick.

Taylor made headlines this offseason by making it to the finals of Dancing with the Stars. The Dolphins weren't too enthused, and Bill Parcels wanted to dump Taylor.

A recent poll of NFL coaches asked which one player you would pick first if the entire league was eligible to be drafted. Taylor was one of only three players who received votes. Tom Brady and Peyton Manning were the others.

I was hoping the Browns would grab him. Hometown hero, and all.

He would've had to play linebacker. Also, I don't know about the Browns' cap situation.

But yes, that would have been fantastic.

  3. GJGood Says:

Isn't Pittsburgh closer to his hometown? I'm not sure. That may have been where he would have chosen to play if it were totally up to him.

I really thought he'd end up in Jacksonville.

  4. DSmith Says:

He is from Woodland Hills PA, so yes the Steelers would have been his hometown. Hope he gets his ring with the Skins. Chances slim though.
