Zips offer scholarship to Georgia linebacker

Football
It seems like Akron coaches are developing a recruiting base in Georgia. First was Manley Waller. The next guy goes to high school in Tucker, Ga. — just 15 minutes away from Waller's DeKalb High School in Decatur.
Tevin Holliman, weakside linebacker, Tucker, Ga.
Offers: Akron
Height: 6-foot-3
Weight: 235
Speed: Not listed
Notes: Holliman has interest in a lot of the SEC schools. Rivals.com lists him as a defensive end. In the 3-3-5, he would be restricted to linebacker.
- Notes…
I'm finally done with school! It was a crazy, drama-filled year, but it was probably the funnest, most challenging experience of my life. I appreciated the encouragement and the understanding that I wasn't able to blog as often as I would have liked. I will still be pretty busy this summer, though. I'm taking 10 credits and have a job at a law firm.
MACReportOnline.com broke down what the RPI means for MAC teams. It's a good read. An interesting note: Kent State also missed the NCAA's mark of 925 APR in both football and men's basketball. The Flashes, however, received a waiver and no punishment.

I find it interesting you feel the need to report on Kent State when something appears bad for them, but not the other way around. I saw no mention of Akron's loss of five scholarships and zero Public Recognition awards (2 KSU teams got them by the way) mentioned on the KSU blog. Other MAC teams also didn't make the requirement and got waivers, not just Kent. Stick with the Zips. Last time I checked, this blog is called "Rasor on the Zips," not "Rasor on the Zips and dirt on the Flashes." What about the rest of the sports going on right now for the Zips? Baseball, softball, track & field, golf?

JRid, take a look about four blogs back.
Or as a matter of fact, let me simply link you - http://www.ohiomm.com/blogs/zips/2008/05/06/ncaa-takes-away-five-scholarships-from-zips-football-as-academic-punishment/

JRid, it's called having an inferiority complex.

Please include more info on your blog concerning bad things at kent state?

Thanks Nav for providing the link. Unfortunatley, your efforts will go to waste. They "Can't" read. Remember?

Not to be a big flash defender, but read JRid's post again. What he was saying was that there was no mudslinging on the Kent blog. They didn't mention Akron's loss of scholarships ON THE KSU BLOG.

Please move forward with the name change to "Rasor on the Zips and Dirt on the Flashes.” Incremental growth is good.

Of course, Rasor neglected to explain why the Flashes got the waivers and the Zips didn't. Probably has something to do with the phrases "highest graduation rate" and "scored a perfect 1000." That wouldn't support his agenda very well…..

Give the readers what they want. More dirt on Kent.
Can you do an investigative piece on Cribbs & how
he is doing after trafficking marijuana and domestic violence?
Maybe include James Harrison & his domestic violence too.
Kind of a 'Kent guide on how to break the law and still have adoring fans' story.

P.S. Aaron, you aren't being a Flash defender, just pointing out reality. Thanks!
Seriously, I get the feeling Akron (at least on this blog) tries to feel good about themselves by pointing out the shortcomings of their rival mixed in with their own successes. Is there just so little success to point out that you have to dig up dirt to fill the blog? I don't think so. Kent State has not had success in and out of the MAC because of Akron's failures or shortcomings, which is why you don't see any mention of Akron's problems (past and present) on the KSU blog. Akron's problems are largely irrelevant to Kent and really the opposite should be true. But come on…Kent State gets more mention on THIS blog than most of Akron's other sports teams outside of football and men's basketball!

PS Nobody reads kent blogs. I wouldn't even know where to find one if somebody was going to pay me to read some hippie scribble.

Hey JRid, why don't you save yourself the worry and stress and just stop reading this blog? I'm sure Rasor's traffic numbers won't notice.
