Pluto’s thoughts

The ABJ’s Terry Pluto writes that the Joe Thomas selection will help Charlie Frye, whether he’s a backup or starter in 2007.
He also mentions the sizable hole at right guard, where Akron’s Andy Alleman might fit in.
I’m still skeptical the Browns will use a third rounder on Alleman after using the first two picks (and one from next year) on the passing game and protection.
I hoped that Frye would get a more fair shake at starting for the Browns, but it doesn’t appear that way. As an acquaintance of Frye and Browns fan, I’m hoping he gets traded for a third rounder, increasing the probability Alleman stays in northeast Ohio.
Best case scenario, of course, is that Frye wins the job and performs admirably enough to make him a more tradable asset (See Philip Rivers/Drew Brees in 2006).

I’M ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED WITH YOUR LAST BLOG POST. “A TRAVESTY”? I’M VERY FAR FROM BEING A BROWNS FAN, AND YET I CAN SEE THAT CHUCK FRYE WAS NOT THE ANSWER AT QB FOR THE BROWNS, AND TO ELUDE TO THE FACT THAT THE BROWNS NEED QUINN TO BECOME A PRO BOWLER IN ORDER FOR THIS TRADE TO MAKE SENSE HAS ME REALLY SCRATCHING MY HEAD, AND I CAN ONLY COME AWAY THINKING LESS OF YOU AS A WRITER.
FRYE HAS BIG TIME CHARACTER ISSUES, LET ME TELL YOU THAT. BRADY QUINN, HAS ZERO.
AFTER PLAYING SPORTS AT AKRON, AND GOING ON SPRING BREAK WITH THE GUY(FRYE), AND BEING AROUND HIM AT LEAST TWICE A WEEK, I CAN TELL YOU THE GUYS HEAD ISNT ON RIGHT. HE’S FROM WILLARD OHIO AND YET HE ACTS LIKE HE’S FROM COMPTON? HE LETS 3 RANDOM GUYS LIVE AT HIS HOUSE THAT ONLY DRAG HIM INTO TROUBLE. AND YET YOU HERALD THIS JOKER AS THE NEXT COMING OF DREW BREES? DO SOME HOMEWORK RASOR, FRYE WILL BE OUT OF THE NFL IN 4 YEARS, BECAUSE HE CANT INTERVIEW(AGAIN HE’S A WHITE KID FROM THE COUNTY, AND YET HE WANTS TO BE BLACK), AND HE DOESNT HAVE THE SKILL SETS TO SURVIVE.
POINT BEING; DONT BE A DAMN HOMER AND KILL THE BROWNS FOR MAKING A SMART MOVE AND DUMPING ON A SHITTY PERSON, AND SHITTY PLAYER IN CHUCK FRYE

I don’t see how it matters if he talks like he’s black, or wants to be black, or owns a black car, or eats black olives. Who cares?
Frye has never had character problems. He showed tremendous courage and leadership on the field for Akron. And he showed flashes of being a decent NFL quarterback in his first full season of starting for the Browns.
To say you think less of me as a writer because we disagree about a quarterback is pretty silly. Thanks for reading.
