In Andy Katz's article about scheduling, he talks a lot about the difficulties Akron has had.
As Wichita State has also found, it's a tough task, and it could end up hurting the Zips' and Wheat Shockers' chances at an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.
Football
The Plain Dealer's Elton Alexander praises the Zips and slows fans from jumping on the Kent State bandwagon.

So why aren't the Zips and Shockers playing each other this year? It'd solve a problem for both programs and be a more interesting matchup for the Zips than many of the lackluster non-conference opponents on our schedule.

Hey Mike, great article on the Zips and Shockers. I was reading it earlier in the day. I did some research, you can leave off the "Wheat" from the Wheat Shockers name.
They are just "Shockers"
