In Andy Katz's article about scheduling, he talks a lot about the difficulties Akron has had.

As Wichita State has also found, it's a tough task, and it could end up hurting the Zips' and Wheat Shockers' chances at an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament.

The Plain Dealer's Elton Alexander praises the Zips and slows fans from jumping on the Kent State bandwagon.

  • Speaking of Kent State, if you want a laugh, visit the Buchtelite stand on the second floor of the Student Union. There is an LED display telling how we feel about those hippies.

A Zips AND Wheat Shockers reference in one post? My day is complete.

I also referenced your LED screen, Kiel.

    Can't wait for steaks tomorrow!

Yes, it was a true trifecta. :)

So why aren't the Zips and Shockers playing each other this year? It'd solve a problem for both programs and be a more interesting matchup for the Zips than many of the lackluster non-conference opponents on our schedule.

Hey Mike, great article on the Zips and Shockers. I was reading it earlier in the day. I did some research, you can leave off the "Wheat" from the Wheat Shockers name.

    They are just "Shockers"
