Getsy on Davey O'Brien watch list

As one of college football's premier senior quarterbacks, Luke Getsy made the watch list for the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award.

Phil Horvath of Northern Illinois is the only other MAC quarterback on the list.

Like the Heisman, the only way an Akron player can win such a huge national award is through an exemplary team season.

    Akron-Kent St. didn't make the top 4 because of Akron's utter dominance. If it were even somewhat close, the rivalry would probably be #2 - behind Toledo & BGSU. Their rivalry has to be considered more intense because both programs have had success recently. Kent sucks. They simultaneously drag the MAC's reputation as a conference down and also the Zips' rivalry down.
