It almost seems inevitable now that Akron's rival will lose its brilliant head coach.
Jim Christian is the No. 1 option to fill the vacant job at Nebraska, Ray Mernagh of Hoopfactor.com says.

That's if he takes it. Everyone wants to extend JD's contract, but didn't Kent just extend Christian's contract? Sometimes it doesn't matter. If the coach is good and wants more money (and less job security), he'll leave no matter how long you sign him.

That's true. Kent just extended Christian's contract through 2013, or something ridiculous like that.

Unfortunately, extensions don't amount to much at stepping-stone mid-majors like Akron and Kent unless it is truly the coach's dream job. Akron stands a better chance with KD than JD.

Since Martin is just another jobber who won't take me up on my offer to an Extreme Rules Match, i'll comment on this.
HAH! Tough luck Kent.
Perhaps the Flashes will offer up huge dollars to KD. That would but the Akron V. Kent rivalry right up there with the Boston V. New York one.
