Akron knocked off Oregon on Sunday in extra innings, 4-3. A two-run home run by Julie Boyes was the big shot for the Zips (8-12).

The Ducks (15-10) are ranked 26th in the USA Today poll. This should be a nice confidence boost before the team plays its first game in the new stadium next Tuesday against Penn State.
