Saturday's game

Men's basketball
When I go to games, I've always tried to stay away from the Akron student section. This is mostly because I sometimes write my column about the team for the school paper. It's more professional that way.
This Saturday will be different. I am moving to the AK-Rowdies for one day only. I'm doing this for two reasons…
- I'm writing about the AK-Rowdies for my Tuesday column.
- I want to watch up close as the crowd intimidates OU's overrated players and player-stealing coaches.
As I've said before, I dislike Ohio more than any MAC team. They have all the annoying cockiness of Ohio State with none of the talent or tradition.
Swimming and diving
The Zips started slowly in the MAC Championship at Ocasek Natatorium today. They are in seventh out of eight teams.
Rifle
Akron will compete in the Western Intercollegiate Rifle Championship this weekend. The Zips will need almost a miraculous showing to boost their average into the nation's top eight. Only eight teams go to the NCAA Championships in Colorado Springs, Colo.
Women's soccer
Coach Catherine Byrne looks to have really improved her team by signing eight players. I'll just link you to the press release. The recruits' credentials show the program is heading in the right direction.
Baseball
Akron (1-1) will play at Morehead State (0-2) for three games this weekend. Honestly, it's hard for me to care that much this early in the season. Check back once MAC season starts.

Your "professionalism" is surely showing in your mention of the talentless Bobcats and their player-stealing coaches.
There has been NO proof that OU "stole" Bubba. In fact, Keith Dambrot (oh, he's got a spotless record, huh?) says OU's coaches did nothing wrong.
Secondly, the tradition comment makes me laugh: 2nd in the MAC in total victories and championships. Championships in 1983, 85, 91, 94, 95…preseason NIT champions in 1994, winners at North Carolina in 2003, last year's MAC representative to the NCAA tournament. Feel free to brag if/when Akron ever makes it it the MAC semi-finals in Cleveland.
Writing for the Buchtellite…perhaps the worst college newspaper in the league. That's some credential.

Another thought on your apparent insecurity regarding OU fans: Yes, we're passionate about our team(s) and school, but only because we love the school so much. I understand your frustration that there is not nearly the same level of devotion among AU alumni for their school. By any measure — sports attendance (including sports in which OU has sucked for several years), alumni giving, endowment, or sheer enthusiasm — the OU experience is better. Sorry.

"winners at North Carolina in 2003"
Beating North Carolina means you have tradition? Are you retarded?

Oh and you want to talk about the Buchtelite? What about that piece of shit paper you call "the post". now that thing is a joke. Do you have a couple of blind kids designing it? Christ, what a waste of paper.

The Post comes out DAILY, not once a week or twice a month. OU J-school grads get jobs at real newspapers. They don't pose as "professional journalists" who are actually student correspondents paid by the university on a work study program. OU's J-school is consistently ranked as one of top 3 in the nation. Akron doesn't have a single accredited program in the communication field. By the way, I've been asked to teach journalism several times at your hell hole of a school. I don't even have a teaching degree, but my background in the profession is all they care about. I met some of the students and was appalled by the, ahem, "quality." So Mr. Rasor can continue to pose as a Beacon Journal employee, but the fact is he's paid as a work-study intern through Hilltop High School.
By the way, it's my prediction that Ohio fans will be louder than Akron fans tomorrow. Why? Because there are very few true Akron fans — everyone else attends the school because they have no other options.

well, lets see jackass. The paper pays its employees. Not the school. Look up the word independent.
It comes out twice a week, not twice a month.
Our "hell hole" of a school is a hell of alot nicer than that pile of shit in Athens.
People attend Akron because they like what they see. If they had no other option they would go to Stark State.
People attend Ohio because they are pompous assholes who think that god has chosen then to be the "best"
I'm real sure Akron has asked you to teach there. Did you know that Ohio has asked me to teach applied physics? I don't even have a teaching degree, but my background in the profession is all they care about.
And i supose this would be my last point. You are spending your time posting hate comments on a student run blog. Get a fucking life. Ohio fans have no class.

Fact: A majority of Akron faculty is parttime. Fact: the school goes trolling every year to find people to teach undergrad courses. OU a shithole? Have you ever been there? It's one of the most attractive campuses in the country.
My point on Rasor is that he went on zipsnation.org and positioned himself as a "professional" journalist who is employed by the Beacon Journal. That's not true — his "salary" at the Beacon is paid by the university.
Meanwhile, his sense of "news" is a bit short of the mark. He played up the Bubba Walther story as though it were a major scandal. The Beacon hasn't even covered it, and UofA itself has said OU did nothing wrong. Professional journalists don't go online to spout off about huge violations — the guy who wrote the Buchtellite's article was even embarrassed by Rasor's hyperbole.
Yes, Akron U. asked me (twice) to teach news reporting. Why? Because the guy who was teaching it at the time was also teaching at Southern Ohio College — a secretarial school. The communications program at Akron is a joke.

Fact: I have been to OU, it sucks balls
Fact: "the school goes trolling every year to find people to teach undergrad courses." is not a fact, it is an opinion.
Fact: you are still attacking on a student run blog
Fact: I was asked to teach applied physics by OU. All of their programs are a joke.
FACT: you still need a life, and OU fans STILL have no class.

Hey, OU lover. You can take your "job offer", your OU attitude and that 3 point win at home, and shove it up your ass. Fear the ROO bitch.
