Running back commit Andre Boone shouldn't have much trouble running up the gut the next four years.

The seventh best center in the nation, Mark Jackson from Columbus, verballed with Akron, Rivals.com listed tonight.

Jackson's mom swayed her 6-foot-6, 300 pound son to switch to Akron from Marshall, the site says. A West Virginia newspaper confirms that, saying Mrs. Jackson believed her son could get a better education at Akron.

A great line from that story: "Akron continues to haunt Marshall, even with the Thundering Herd in a different conference."
