Akron offers DE

Akron has offered Fairfield junior defensive end Robert Mincey, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Mincey, who is 6 feet 4 and 240 pounds, also has offers from Kent State, Ball State, Ohio, Toledo and Bowling Green.
Fairfield, a Division I school, plays in the Greater Miami Conference in the Cincinnati area.

Smithville falls 56-34 to Liberty-Benton

COLUMBUS: The Smithville girl’s basketball team was unable to get past top-ranked Liberty-Benton, losing 56-34 in a Division III State semifinal Thursday afternoon at Value City Arena.
Liberty-Benton (26-0) will face Madison Senior (27-0) 10:45 a.m. Saturday for the Division III state title. They are the only undefeated teams left in the tournament.

Kent State has offered Cincinnati Sycamore junior defensive back/wide receiver Darius Hillary (5-10, 180), according to the Cincinnati Enquirer.
Hillary also has offers from Boston College, Stanford, Illinois and others.
Syacmore, a Division I school, plays in the Greater Miami Conference.

Kent State offers Finneytown lineman

The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that Finneytown junior lineman Donavon Clark (6-4, 290) has been offered by Kent State.
Clark also has offers from Minnesota, Ohio University, West Virginia, Duke, Indiana and Ball State.
Finneytown plays in the Cincinnati Hills League, a suburban area league in the Queen City.

Wadsworth leads after consie championships

Wadsworth holds a 154 to 149.5 lead over St. Edward after the conclusion of the consolation finals.
The Grizzlies went 2-4 over the two round consolation finals. Sophomore Alfredo Gray (112) beat St. Edward freshman Edgar Bright 2-1 in an overtime tiebreaker. Gray placed fifth in the state. Bright finished sixth.
