Springfield looks to finish off its surprise season with a win tonight at Ravenna.
Spartans sophomore Dillon Matthews rushed for 218 yards and four touchdowns in a 33-15 win over the visiting Coventry Comets last week.

Springfield will travel Kent Roosevelt tonight and attempt to win their second consecutive Portage Trail Conference Metro Division game.

Springfield and Field will square off tonight at 7 p.m. at Springfield.
Each team has a 4-1 overall record and a 2-0 mark in the Portage Trail Conference Metro Division.

The Springfield Spartans football team is addicted to winning games this season.
Springfield defeated Southeast 34-20 this past Friday and improved their record to 3-1 this season under second-yard coach Kevin Vaughn.

Akron Girls Golf League Prepares For Championship

The newly-formed Greater Akron Girl’s Golf League will hold its first league championship tournament 9 a.m. Saturday at Mud Run Golf Course.
The schools in the league include Archbishop Hoban, CVCA, Firestone, Our Lady of the Elms, Springfield and St. Vincent-St. Mary.

Long-Lost Shoe Going To Springfield

On Friday morning, around 9:30 a.m., longtime Ellet football coach Joe Yost, who is in his 31st season, will be making the short trek from Ellet to Springfield to deliver the ceremonial `Shoe” that annually goes to the winner of this game.
