ATTENTION COACHES: HOW TO REPORT A SCORE

Coaches and athletic directors, here are the three ways to report scores to the Beacon Journal and Ohio.com.

• By phone at 330-996-3800. We start taking calls around 6 p.m.

• By fax at 330-996-3629.

• By e-mail at bjsports@thebeaconjournal.com.

With our deadlines for publication and limited space, if a score fails to make the first edition of the newspaper, we will run it as a late box score the next day.

We also ask that you report the scores as soon as possible after the game or match. And please take into consideration that with eight boys and girls sports taking place in the fall, your fans and this publication need your cooperation in getting the scores to us.

If you have any questions, please direct them to Sports Editor Ron Ledgard at rledgard@thebeaconjournal.com.

How are athletes of the Week chosen? I believe Shannelle Mosley should be considered. She alone scored 24 points in the East v. Ellet game. She is the co-captain of the Lady Orangement. Shannelle is the only returning starter to Ellet’s team. Eventough it has been a tough season for them this season, she has played every game as if they were in first place and never giving up. She has also been accepted to several colleges she’s applied to (Trine, Thiel, Defiance and is awaiting letters from Goucher, Gannon and Greensboro before committing) she is a 4.0 student with perfect attendance. She is the ultimate athlete who has gone unnoticed and unrecognized.
