Long time assistant Tomei leaving Revere football

An era is coming to an end at Revere High School. A week after head football coach Terry Cistone announced he will be leaving the football program at the end of the season, long time assistant Fred Tomei announced he will be leaving as well.

Tomei has been with the Revere football program for 23 seasons and has been coaching lineman for most of that time. The Offensive Lineman of the Year Award is named in his honor.

Tomei has been coaching high school football for 30 years, working under John Cistone at his alma mater St. Vincent-St. Mary in 1973. Two years later, Tomei worked with Dan Pappano at Tallmadge. By 1977, Tomei had moved onto the Revere staff. Despite a brief stint coaching at Tallmadge from 1997-1999, Tomei has been with the Minutemen.

He is currently the principal of Bath Elementary and is in his 33rd year of Education in the Revere school system.

Congratulations Mr. T! I’m sure you’ll be missed, but there is a very long list of young men that have looked up to you! Enjoy all your friday nights off!
