Firestone senior volleyball player Gretchen Von Koenig has accepted a full athletic scholarship to further her athletic and academic career at New Jersey Institute of Technology, a Division I school in Newark, N.J.
Von Koening, the City Series Player of the Year last season, said she will major in architecture.
“I really loved the school and I can’t wait to start there,” Von Koenig said. “The academic standards are high, there is diversity, like there is here at Firestone and it’s one of the top 25 schools for my major.
“Plus, being minutes away from Manhattan is awesome,” she said. “When it comes to my major, you can’t get more connected than that.”
