Black Tigers fooled by Magics

Cuyahoga Falls coach Mike Miller thinks part of the reason Barberton scored four touchdowns in the first of the Black Tigers’ 35-14 loss at Barberton was simple confusion.

“We had problems with some things they did on offense. They came out with some new packages we had not seen before,” Miller said.

Barberton coach Brian Staats acknowledged the Magics had something up their collective sleeves.

“We used some stuff on offense we had not shown before,” Staats said.

Both coaches acknowledged the Black Tigers played far better defensively in the second half, but by then Barberton quarterback Kyle Snyder had thrown for three touchdowns. He also iced the game with a 29-yard touchdown run with just over two minutes left in the game.
