A reason for Medina’s Rymer to get looks from college grid coaches

by Jim Isabella on September 28, 2009

in Football,Gymnastics,Medina

In his first two years at Medina High School, Danny Rymer did not play football. Last year as a junior, he came out and made the team.

It looks like it was a very good decision. The senior wide receiver is now getting looks from Mount Union College and several Mid-American Conference schools.

“He ran a 4.35 in the 40 (yard dash) and has really played well for us,” says Medina coach Greg Reed.

Athletic talent runs in the family. Rymer’s mother, Kathy Rymer, was state track champion. Sister Emilie Rymer was a three-time all-around state gymnastics champion (2004-06) and holds the first and third best scores in the vault since the scoring criteria changed in 1990. His other sister, Nicole Rymer, was third in the all-around in 2007.
