Getting closer to April 15

by Beacon Sports on March 20, 2009

in Uncategorized

No, we aren’t referring to tax day. April 15 is the start of the regular signing period for basketball players in the 2009 class. The final signing date is May 20.

Basketball had an early signing period Nov. 12-19 in 2008.

The regular signing period for field hockey, soccer, track and field, cross country and men’s water polo is April 8. The final signing date is Aug. 1.

Blog readers, who are some of the standouts in basketball and other sports that have yet to sign? What do you expect in April?

I’m late in responding to this question, but how about Daylen Harrison from St.V/M? I know the Zips don’t have a scholly to give, but are they offering him to walk on? I believe Daylen has outstanding grades so he may be in line for an academic scholly anyhow.

And has anyone heard anything on Streetsboro’s Robert Wilson? Is he being looked at by any D-1 schools?

And I’m surprised GlenOak’s McCullum (sp?) is going to such a small D-1 school, Lehigh, I believe. He’s 6-2 and can obviously light it up. I’m surprised he didn’t get offered by a single MAC school.

Here’s another one: Kent Roosevelt’s Andre Paulk. He had a great year. Has he gotten any interest from D-1 programs?

And what ever happened with Tiondre Johnson of Woodridge?
