Walsh Jesuit baseball coach Chris Kaczmar recently announced that the Warriors are nationally ranked for the fifth time in the past six years.

The Warriors are ranked in three pre-season polls, No. 22 in the ESPN Rise Pre-Season Fab 50 Poll, No. 26 in the Collegiate Baseball News Pre-Season Poll and No. 66 in the Perfect Game Cross Checker Top 100 pre-season high school baseball teams of 2009.

Walsh was nationally ranked for three consecutive years from 2004 through 2006, peaking in the USA Today poll at No. 6 nationally in 2006 as the Warriors collected their third state title.

The Warriors won their fourth state title in 2008 and returned to the national rankings.

Kaczmar also said junior 3B/SS/RHP Johnny Fasola is ranked 260th nationally in the Perfect Game Cross Checker Nation Top 500 of the class of 2010.

Walsh opens the 2009 season against visiting Amherst on March 30.
