Cabrera diagnosed with strained groin

by Sheldon Ocker on March 13, 2010 - 1:58 pm

GOODYEAR, Ariz.: Asdrubal Cabrera gave an update on his injury at 11:45 this morning, as he walked into the locker room.

“”It’s my left groin,” he said, referring to a strain he sustained diving back into third base on a pickoff attempt Friday. “”I think it will be only three or four days.”

Cabrera’s assessment of the time he will miss might be optimistic. Groin injuries have a way of recurring unless they are totally allowed to heal. But even if he has to sit out seven to 10 days, he should have plenty of time to be ready for the season opener April 5.
