This came across the wire today:
CLEVELAND (AP) Former Washington manager Manny Acta is getting a second interview with the Cleveland Indians.
Acta, fired by the Nationals in July, will meet with Indians owner Paul Dolan, general manager Mark Shapiro and other front-office personnel on Tuesday at Progressive Field. The Indians said Acta will be available to the media afterward.
Acta was one of 8 to 10 candidates the team interviewed by phone last week. The team has not revealed the names of any of its managerial candidates.
The Indians are bringing as many as five finalists to Cleveland for second interviews. Acta, 40, went 158-252 in two-plus seasons for the Nationals. He was fired after the team started 21-61 last season.
Old friend Terry Pluto knows that Bobby Valentine, Class A Mahoning Valley manager Travis Fryman and Class AAA Columbus manager Torey Lovullo were all interviewed over the phone.
Names that aren’t on the list, according to Pluto: Mike Hargrove, Yankees bench coach Tony Pena, Buck Showalter, and Phil Garner.
He did add this though: “Hargrove could end up being a bench coach if the team hires a younger manager.”

Acta would be perfect, his old team had a fire sale and he was able to win almost 39% of his games. The Indians have had a fire sale and we’d all know what to expect. 64 and 98 sounds about right. I think someone made a movie about this “Major League” except I don’t think anyone wants to see Dolan with his clothes coming off.
