The Indians’ chartered bus from the hotel to the ballpark Wednesday morning was involved in an accident, when it was struck by a car that veered out of control during a downpour.
None of the passengers on the bus — eight players and assistant GM John Mirabelli — were injured. The driver of the car also apparently escaped without injury.
“A car was hydroplaning next to us and fishtailed into oncoming traffic,” said Justin Masterson, one of the players on the bus. “”The driver tried to get the car back in the right direction and smashed into the bus. I saw the driver get out of his car, so I guess he was all right.
“The police came and took our names, and we waited until town cars came and took us to the ballpark.”
Also on the bus were Tony Sipp, Fausto Carmona, Wyatt Toregas, Aaron Laffey, David Huff, Rafael Perez and Toma Ohka.
This is the second time the Tribe has been involved in an incident involving a bus in Kansas City. Five years ago, the team bus was en route to the airport when a bullet pierced the body of the bus and nicked the leg of rookie pitcher Kyle Denney.
Denny was unhurt and the shooter was never found.

What ever happened to Kyle Denney? Didn’t he get hit in the head with a ball hit back at him or something terribly unlucky like that?
