Well here's ONE problem: Wedge is using one of his most effective relievers, Joe Smith, for ONE BATTER??!! Then he brings in Vinny Chulk, who didn't even MAKE the team? Hey, we acquired Smith from the Mets for many appearances and many innings. Submarine pitchers have less stress on their arms, and are quite deceptive. He is a BETTER choice than the 14th pitcher on a 13-man staff, wouldn't ya say?

Who ISN'T surprised at Perez and Betancourt coughing up runs left and right. Betancourt set that pattern last year, and may never recover. Perez? Teams have finally adjusted. It may well be time to look within the farm system. Make pitchers PERFORM to earn their place on this roster. How many games has the bullpen--our alleged "strength"--cost the team already?

Bottom line: If Smith (or WHOEVER) is getting hitters OUT, stop playing the stupid lefty/righty one-batter-and-you're-done game, Wedge. The more pitchers you bring in, the greater chance that one of them will BLOW the freakin' game!!!! Trust the effective pitcher on the mound, and stop using 5 and 6 pitchers a night!
