Fangraphs got around to the Cleveland Indians today in its organizational rankings.

The Indians come in at No. 4 overall.

here are their grades:

Ownership: B
Front Office: A+
Major League Talent: B
Minor League Talent: B+
Overall: A-

FanGraphs obviously went into more detail about each category, but you’ll have to follow the link for that.

Front office: A+ ??

Whoops. There went the credibility of THAT survey.

The crazy signing of Hafner, overpayment of Westbrook, travesty of Delluci, bungled Marte and Brandon Phillips affairs, Jason Johnson…period, counting on Joe Blow as a closer, inability to build a defensive infield,…I could go on and on.

It’s not that I don’t like the front office people…they’re nice, good folks. But this grade is wildly inflated. Otherwise we wouldn’t have struggled to achieve a .500 record last season, after failing to add one single piece to a lame, punchless lineup that somehow nearly went to the World Series a year earlier. PRO-active, Mark….not RE-active, a year too late.

With fans like Matt, who needs rivals? Congratulations, Front Office! I agree with the ratings. Of course, if baseball was an exact science, everyone would always win . . . .
