Monday marked the release of a new game and possibly a new era for baseball fans when 2k Sports released its newest game: MLB Front Office Manager.
The game — which is now available on PlayStation 3, Xbox360 and PC –puts gamers into the front office. Players must recruit the world, find gems in the amatuer draft, control minor league rosters, develop the entire organization, make trades and lead your team to a World Series title. Everything a real general manager does for his team.
Oakland A’s General manager Billy Beane served as an advisor for the project and offers advice throughout game play.
Personally I don’t know how good the game will be, but I am hearing it is incredibly in depth. it will probably be similar to EA Sports NFL Head Coach line.
I did get excited when I saw the name of Indians prospect Wes Helms on a screen grab. If FOM purchased the liscense of all the minor league rosters and teams it could be really awesome.
While I personally haven’t had a chance to play it yet, I am looking forward to it. Although, I don’t know when that will be. I do not own a PS3 or XBox360.
Here is a link to the website to check it out for yourself. it retails for $39.99.
As soon as I get to play it, I will let you all know what I think of it.

If people are really interested in this type of stuff I’d suggest checking out Click here for WhatIfSports!
As for realism it doesn’t get much better than their Hardball Dynasty game.
I’d love to know what Adam Miller’s “blister probability” is in this game.
Also if interested in simulation, check out the Seamheads.com Historical league, which features such real guest managers such as Curt Schilling, Joe Posnanski, Bill James, Jonah Keri, among other famous baseball people. It is a game based off of the best PC simulator on the market Out of the Park Baseball 9 (OOTP 9 for short)
