OSU v. Wisconsin: Halftime

Posted November 3rd, 2007 by George Thomas

Score 10-3 and as good as the Buckeyes offense looked last week, they look just as mediocre.

Quarterback Todd Boeckman is getting pressure up the middle effectively limiting his effectiveness. The minute Chris "Beanie" Wells gets it going, they shift gears and go back to passing.

Perhaps Jim Tressel is just having his team feel the Badgers out, or perhaps this is a team that's lost some of the trademark focus that they've had for the past few weeks.

It's also fairly obvious that Badgers coach Bret Bielema doesn't believe his team can win this game straight-up as his game plan reeks of one word - trickeration.

Tressel is great at halftime adjustments. Time and the final score will tell whether he gave his team an attitude adjustment.

Looks like somebody, yet again, snuck another roofie in George's Bud Light.

Since George is still unconscious as I write this, it is going to be a little while before he has the opportunity to read it. So in the best interests of all, allow me to be totally candid before he wakes up.

Week after week after week after week after week, George is passed out by halftime. I like the guy, and I am concerned. All readers should be concerned, too. I believe it is time for an intervention. If we wait, it may be too little, too late. Otherwise, by halftime of Ohio State's bowl game, George's liver will already be more pickled than David Crosby's.

He'll be up and operating Thursday morning, alan. It's quarter beer night at one of the college bars but his wife won't let him go unless he puts in a full day of work.

Thanks for the info, larry, you saved me the trip, not to mention a few hours of needed sleep. Despite it being 11:55 PM and I have to get up early for work, I now have my jacket on and my car warming up in the garage. Thank goodness I glanced at my computer before I left. I was all prepared to file a missing persons report with the OSU police.

Well, larry, you were dead wrong. A full 24 hours since I posted, and he's still not up and operating. I went to file that missing persons report, but they said George has to be missing for a week before they'll even take the report. What should we do???

Today's the big day. The Big Bear will be up moving around until halftime.
