Cleveland Cavaliers Playoffs: Different Atmosphere
Posted May 6th, 2007 by George Thomas
For the Cavaliers opening series against the Washington Wizards you could walk around Quicken Loans Arena and it was if it were the regular season. That could have been because the Wizards were outmanned. It could have been because expecations are higher this season for the Cavs.
However, the atmosphere has changed. There's a discernible buzz in the air for this series. It could be the Jason Kidd factor. The guy only averaged a triple double in the New Jersey Nets series against. But there are other worries like…ohhh…I don't know…Vince Carter. Then there's Richard Jefferson who appears to have his explosiveness back.
This is going to be a tough series - no cakewalk. The Cavs will need their new-found balance for this one.

The games that Pavlovic and Gooden had were very encouraging for the Cavs. This will be a tough series, but I've been wondering how a team that includes Kidd, Jefferson and Carter could seem so blah. Their GM must have taken anti-excitement lessons from Ferry.

Hey George thanks again for answering my questions.
Great win for the Cavs, it looks to me like Gooden is the x factor in this series. I dont see any forward on the Nets that can handle his size and athleticism. I really want the Cavs to look at him as more of a early scoring option. He doesnt get force fed enough early and Mikki Moore on him is such a mismatch.
Thanks and keep us informed with the great blogs

Larry Hughs is whack!! He is the biggest waste of Cavs money. Now it is obvious he needs to be traded. There is no room for selfish players on that team

If the cavs loose this series MIKE BROWN needs fired. They need to play Newble and Jones. At least they play defense!
