Foo Fighters denounce McCain's use of their "My Hero"

Wow, It seems the McCain Campaign can't seem to make friends among rock musicians who don't appreciate his use of their music for his campaign

First, Jackson Browne threatened to sue McCain and Co. for using Running On Empty then Van Halen cried foul when they used Right Now though former singer Sammy Hagar said the songs general theme of change is apt and could and should be used by either campaign.
Then Heart adamantly spoke out against VP candidate Sarah Palin's use of their Barracuda, (her nickname in high school)

Now the Foo Fighters have joined the ranks of disgruntled musicians and copyright holders for McCain's use of their song My Hero.

Here is their official statement:

This isn't the first time the McCain campaign has used a song without making any attempt to get approval or permission from the artist. It's frustrating and infuriating that someone who claims to speak for the American people would repeatedly show such little respect for creativity and intellectual property. The saddest thing about this is that 'My Hero' was written as a celebration of the common man and his extraordinary potential. To have it appropriated without our knowledge and used in a manner that perverts the original sentiment of the lyric just tarnishes the song. We hope that the McCain campaign will do the right thing and stop using our song–and start asking artists' permission in general!

Who will be next?
Perhaps Amber Lee Ettinger aka "Obama Girl" will sue the Obama Campaign for their brazen and continuous use of the the word "Obama" without her expressed written permission.

Waaaaahhh! Dave Grohl whining again! It must be so tough to be an artist, and have to love your money and hate the people who gave it to you.

yeah, well if he doesn't want his song to be associated with the McCain campaign, then I can see why he's complaining.
