Raspberries singer Eric Carmen was arrested Tuesday night in Orange, Ohio for DUI after slamming his car into a fire hydrant.
According to reports (TMZ, of course) Carmen gave the officers a credit card when asked for his driver's license and a half empty bottle of Grey Goose vodka was found in the car.
Carmen blew a .23 on the breathalyzer more than double the legal limit.
Recently the singer-songwriter and a reunited Raspberries whose 1970s hits include Go All the Way and I Wanna Be With You had enjoyed success performing and recording a critically well-received live album.
As a solo artist and songwriter Carmen's had quite a good run in the 1980's with hits such as Hungry Eyes and All By Myself
The singer reportedly slammed his car into a fire hydrant and handed cops a credit card when asked for his license. A half-empty bottle of Grey Goose vodka was found on the passenger’s seat, and Carmen's breathalyzer test was nearly three times the legal limit at .23, TMZ reported.
This is Carmen's second DUI and he was released to his attorney and has a Sept. 16 court date.

This breaks my heart. I was the receptionist at his management company in LA in 1985 and he used to come in with songs but then he never came back. I always wondered what happened to him but I know. Hving spent from 1975 to 1999 in the music business with very big acts I know it is a curse. It is great when you are young but once you are told old and all of it is gone, how many have overdosed or killed themselves. We moved to Phoenix but there is nothing here and I am with my third musician husband and he is the only one still functioning. It very depressing for me because it was such a great life but when it is over, nothing can replace it. Whoever wrote "No one gets out of here alive" wasnt kidding. I am ready to go.
Everybody makes mistakes. To me Eric Carmen is only human. Would it be a big deal if he wasn't famous? He's pretty and can do no wrong in my eyes.
He hasn't killed anyone, sold drugs to minors or robbed a liquor store. Those are the people the cops should be going after.
Breaks my heart too. This guy is one phenomenally talented individual, not to mention a nice guy too. I pray everything works out ok for him.
marathon man with the bad face lift and plastic surgery-looks like the same fine craftmansship of the doctor michael jackson used-couldn't happen to a nicer boy-this fruitcake who has cheated, lied and dogged anyone and everyone who has crossed paths with him. he uses the best of the best and then spits them out like they were trash. can't feel sorry for this boy, he's a fake and he knows it, that's why he hides in his drink. wonder if he still keeps a sock in his pants like in the past? some of the music part to the song all by myself was stolen by him-and go all the way was co-written by wally bryson without any credits to him-the proof is out there for sure. and as far as the raspberries reunion,- he just used them up for his own resurgence in the spotlight and now he's done them in and done with them-this boy is cruel and down right dirty-after one of the first raspberries gigs in chicago at the house of blues, eric almost had a coke melt down, crying not to tell his wife-just barely makiing it, needing help just to make his flight-i've seen the pictures of him and the people he was coking with that night-he' a joke- always crying about being mistreated-poor, poor eric- poor little marathon man,always planning to destroy others-well this time he's done it to himself- this pretty little mug shot is there for all to see his fake perfect plastic imperfections forever and ever—i'm done—–eric, say hi to michael, thanks sweetie

This is all true. I knew Eric & Wall well. I saw Eric do his "sock trick" in the dressing room when we did a double billing at a local rock club.
So because a guy stuck a sock in his pants in 1970 something, everything Clyde said was true. Wow! You'd be a great juror! None of you really know Eric carmen so give it up. Jealousy will eat you alive. It looks like it has already.

First, if you had actually owned the raspberries album you would of seen credit was given to Carmen & Byson for writing "Go all the Way" Also if you check the credits to most of the other raspberries hits … I only want to be with you, Lets Pretend, Tonight, I'm a Rocker & Overnight sensation … you would know it was Carman that wrote most of the raspberries music and was the true talent in that group.
Secondly ….. It is usually the guys who have nothing down below that say the mean comment about stock stuffing. Besides he looked like he still had a nice bulge in his pant when he was walking the line in this video. I guess he took the time to stuff before going on police camera.
To audrey clark: You said ""at least he hasn't killed anyone"" Yeah thank god that was just a fire hydrant he ran over and not a child. This was Eric's 2nd time he was arrested for drunk diving. The 1st time was in 2007. The man has a serious drinking problem and should stop driving drunk before he kills someone.
With that being said. I am a big Eric Carmen & Raspberries fan. I hate to see what has happen to such a great talent. I Pray he find the strength to over come his demon's that are causing him to drink. God speed Eric!
No wonder Eric drinks with that face. He should sue his plastic surgeon. I saw the Raspberries reunion at the Blues and thought Eric was a really bad impersonator. He looked nothing like Eric Carmen. What a pity he had to mess up that once beautiful face up. He should of grown old gracefully. But he is a leo and they are known for vanity.
Oh please Ms Tickle. I saw him there too and he looked GREAT. I don't personally believe he needed a touch up, but so what, he still looked gorgeous! Put on your glasses!
