Jeremy, they're obviously not better suited to play more than dinky theaters, or there wouldn't have been so many empty seats in the dinky theater in the first place. If they were booked in Cleveland's arena, as you were silly enough to assert, there would be so many curtains surrounding masses of empty seats, it would look like an aisle where they sell drapes at Wal-Mart.

You know I thought maybe my ears were going bad (still a distinct possibility, as I have a much harder time hearing stage banter these days) and that's why I didn't mention the mix.

But seeing your post and having read a few more (fan) reviews, apparently the sound guy/band are purposely putting Weiland's vocals lower in the mix.

This was my 6th STP show, but first since they reunited. I was a little disappointed with the acoustics (although EJ Thomas is not designed for rock concerts), the crowd (too many empty seats for that small of a venue) and the volume (Scott was drowned out over the instruments most of the night). I think STP puts on one heck of a show, but this one was not their best. They played all their hits, and a few that no one except the hard core fans really knew and rocked everything. Scott's stage presence is unmatched and I hope they do come out with some new stuff and follow it up with an arena tour, cause I think they are much better suited to play the Q or CSU than these small dinky theathers.
