Interesting comments from Mark Sanchez about playing in NYC:

http://xr.com/6yvg

"...it’s almost like they want you to say something wrong, and it’s almost like everyone’s just kind of waiting. But everything’s gone really well so far, so I’m playing things cautious, and playing them smart, and respecting my team and watching myself with what I say and how I act as much as possible. A perfect example was the hot dog thing. You know, it was crazy to see something like that blow up the way it did.”

The Boss will be playing the album "Born To Run" in it's entirety (8 songs) and in order during his Cleveland set. Most of his concerts have been about 25-27 songs long.

When I saw him in October, 1980 during the River Tour at the Richfield Coliseum, I was in the 5th row at the side of the stage. Still one of the best concerts I've ever seen (and I've been to A LOT). He played 28 songs and the tickets cost $10.50.

I'll be expecting a concert review on this blog.

pat, i'm going to have to interrupt this article to rant about the b.s. that c.c. sabathia pulled at last night's knicks game. he showed to every cleveland fan that he is a supreme douchebag. talking about how lebron should come to new york and how there's no better place to win. hey c.c. if you hadn't crapped your pants against the red sox in 2007 and won in cleveland you would have been revered as a god. the first person to win in cleveland will have the power to command fans to jump off cliffs like thulsa doom did to that girl in conan the barbarian. bernie kosar made a few afc championship games but you'd think he healed the sick and raised the dead the way he's treated by fans. new york will turn on him in a heartbeat if he blows games like he did in cleveland in the future. who does he think he is? derek jeter? sorry c.c., new yorkers got fed up with joe torre and he won 4 rings with the yankees. when his talent doesn't outperform his fat gut he's going to see what new york can really be like. he'll be kicked to the curb but had he won in cleveland the fans would have been fighting to help him load up in the buffet line.

OK Alan ... I decry it time to stand up for myself. The blog is not my fulltime job. Writing columns for the paper is (cue Alan's smart-alec crack about dieing newspapers here ... soooo predictable). On Friday, I write my Sunday notes page for the newspaper, which takes an entire page and which I've occasionally linked to here. Writing that takes all day. Literally. And ... by the time you've written 2,000 words for the paper, you need a small break. So I take a blog break on Fridays. Sorry if that interferes with your social schedule, but that's the way it is. Hrrmph. ... How's the setup in your basement?

Pat,
Look for the street performances he does with a local musician in Amsterdam. You may have already seen them, but if not, they are very affecting. I would link to them here, but I am just too lazy today.
