Impressive effort by the Cavs — through three quarters
The Cavs are playing quite a game against Orlando tonight. Mo Williams has been outstanding, and the Cavs have played a very strong overall game. At this point it's 81-64 Cleveland, so don't yell at me if they lose the … Continue reading

LeBron is in New York tonight
Which calls for at least one "where is LeBron going to play" next season link.
Rest easy Cavs fans
LeBron James evidently will not attend the New York Yankees parade.
A new take on LeBron's future
Sam Smith offers a new location for LeBron after this season: The Lakers with Kobe Bryant. He writes: "I believe James has no idea yet what he wants to do next summer. But I also believe the Lakers’ scenario makes … Continue reading
Cavs lose their first two
Well the Cavs didn't lose two in a row last season until February, nor did they lose at home until February. They've done both in two games this season. This isn't your 66-win season anymore, Toto. It's only been two … Continue reading
Cavs lose the opener to Boston
Not a great opening night for the Cavs, who looked like a team still trying to find itself. LeBron James called it a "transition period." Coach Mike Brown said: "We will get better." The cynic in me started to ask … Continue reading

Someone suggests the Cavs might not be all that this season
It's been out a while, but it's still worth reading … One SI.com analyst is not all ga-ga over the Cavs acquisition of Shaq. He writes: “Aside from his abysmal free-throw shooting, the biggest flaws in Shaq's game are defending … Continue reading

Pondering LeBron and Braylon
Early this morning someone offered to me that Braylon Edwards' trade to New York ensures LeBron James won't sign there. Theory being that the two don't like each other at all. But the more I think the more I think … Continue reading

Braylon Edwards continues to impress
Braylon Edwards (allegedly) punched a friend of LeBron James in a bar in the wee hours of Monday morning. According to James, the guy weighs about 130 pounds. Nice. Real, real nice. What a joke.

Maybe this is why LeBron James wanted to keep his options open in 2010
The NBA has another billionaire. Russia’s Mikhail Prokhorov has bought the Nets, and most expect him to be a force in the league – especially with next summer’s free agent class. You might recall that class includes a certain guy … Continue reading
Don't worry Cavs fans
LeBron’s mom says he’s staying.
A couple things on the Cavs
Good read here by Tom Withers of the AP wrapping up LeBron James’ summer. And here’s a way-too-early ranking that states the Cavs are the league’s second-best team, better than the Lakers.
The psychology of Shaq and LeBron — from the Wall Street Journal
The Wall Street Journal (of all publications) takes a look at how Shaq and LeBron James will get along. The story is headlined “Is this basketball marriage doomed?” And it includes this: “Dr. Virginia Rutter, a sociologist, psychologist and co-author … Continue reading
In case you missed it on ESPN last night …
Pretty strong statements that LeBron James will become a free agent in 2010.
LeBron's travels
LeBron James and Nike don’t mess around with their World Tours. The premiere showings for the documentary “More Than A Game” will be a true world tour. Sites after Akron: Beijing, Shenyang, Shanghai, Paris, London, New York City and Los … Continue reading
A highlight from the "More Than A Game" Akron premiere
I was one of the lucky ones invited to the Akron premiere of the movie “More Than A Game” at the amazingly beautful Akron Civic Theater. The film is the documentary about the St. Vincent-St. Mary team that included LeBron James, Romeo … Continue reading
LeBron James need to know this
I took an informal poll in Ireland about what they knew about U.S. sports. Nobody knew of Carl Pavano. Or Eric Mangini. Or Dennis Northcutt. So I went for the big gun: I asked two people, both relatives, if they … Continue reading
Time to get the cash out of the mattress
Finally … a use for that extra quarter-mil we all have sitting around.

The economy and the NBA's 2010 reality
I always enjoyed Randy Newman's song "It's Money That Matters." Now you know that it's true. In the NBA, money really matters as it relates to the summer of 2010. The nation's economy could have a chilling effect on all … Continue reading
Charley Rosen's regular rip of LeBron
This is dated, but Charley Rosen of Fox just really seems to have his monkey on for LeBron James.

Something I wonder regarding Varejao
I wonder if the fact that the contract is six years indicates something about the future of LeBron James. Let's be honest, James makes Varejao a better player, and Varejao is valuable because he plays so well off of and … Continue reading

More Ariza … and LeBron
Trevor Ariza is not changing his mind … he will go to Houston (evidently), but ESPN.com wrote this: "The Cleveland Cavaliers got some bad news followed by some potentially terrific news on Sunday. In a last-ditch effort to recruit Trevor Ariza away … Continue reading
