Pat,

Thanks for your contributions during your stay at the ABJ. Your insights, candor and humor about our NE Ohio sports teams have added a lot to my mornings, and I'm going to miss you. Good luck wherever you're headed. And, I must say - a very classy musical exit. Go in peace, brother.

Seriously, Brian D., even Rick ended here with a civil and intelligent adult post without any name-calling whatsoever. I hate to say it, but you've ended up as the Boobie Gibson of the blog. Rick grew up, you on the other hand, went the the way of Tom Hanks in "Big" and never returned. You really don't have much time left, so perhaps you should paste another photo link, this one of yourself doing your finest Gibson impression. At least it will make me giggle. Show yourself shaving a star in your head while holding up three fingers to represent what round of the NBA draft you should have been taken in this blog.

It's rare that a sportswriter makes his readers feel so connected. You will be missed Pat. Best of all to you and yours.

Rumor has it that all of the drywall work alan had been doing was to build Pat an office in Alan's Mom's basement.

Who woulda thunk it... Pat leaving, Mangini still here. :)

In all seriousness, good luck Pat. I don't always agree with your views but feel like you lead good discussion here and your posts are often thought provoking.

In half seriousness, what happens to Alan? Will you be giving Alan a guest spot on the weekends? Or will ABJ be giving this blog to Alan to maintain? Or is this like when Manny Ramirez went to Boston and requested that he take the clubhouse attendant who was like a father/older brother with him (his name escapes me) but only Alan has refused to leave this site for AOL Fanhouse and now in 6 months when you two cross paths you'll pretend like you don't know who he is?
