Yahoo's Adrian Wojnarowski on the Gilbert Arenas suspension: "All these lousy owners under (commissioner David) Stern, all these soft franchises, enable and encourage a league in which the stars have always been able to do whatever they want, however they want to do it."

i read this article earlier. it's trash.
all that crying about the owners and stern is a whole different issue. gilbert arenas is a man. he is solely responsible for his idiotic behavior.
if yahoo sports was a shoe, adrian wojnarowski would be the turd that arenas left in it. he was one of the earliest guys saying lebron is definitely leaving new york. dude won't even touch the subject now. he's a poor man's jay mariotti which is like being a parasite on a flea.
I believe that is the first time in sportswriting history that these words have made it into a sports column: "Abe was alive when the Wizards signed Arenas to a $60 million contract, alive when Arenas crapped in a teammate’s shoes." I mean, Daniel Gibson is one of the Cavaliers' overpaid crappers on the court, and Ferry should have asked him for a refund, but has Terry Pluto ever given Dan Gilbert backhanded props for Gibson crapping into a guy's Birkenstocks? I think not.
But I agree with the column. Totally. What column were you reading, terje? It couldn't have been the same column I read.
Wojnarowski is 50/50: half the time he is what terje thought he was, and the other half he has McGwire fill his left buttcheek with a needle so he can hit it out of the park.
this one was steroid-aided.
not a fan of Adrian Wojnarowski.
David Stern is the Jewish Napoleon, but unfortunately, I don't think there are any islands off of the coast of Israel to banish him on.
I must have something for Napoleon.
the article is trash because it's just a bunch of after-the-fact moralizing.
Well, until he finally wises up and uses Dionne Warwick as a source, he couldn't exactly have moralized about it before the fact.
why not? he brought up the shoe didn't he? he brought up abe pollan's old garbage? sounds like he could have built a case long before this incident.
Windy tweeted this about D West…
"Delonte West motions hearing and trial on gun charges pushed to late April. Hearing was supposed to be Fri., trial Feb. 18. Now Apr. 26."
Tweeted ! what is this tweeted you write about????
terje, I believe there is a difference between an O.K. Corral mixed in with jockstraps, and an old rich Jewish guy named "Abe," who, when he was alive, didn't take firm swift action after a basketball homie took a dump into another basketball homie's footwear. But I'm sure the forthcoming new CBA will take that into strong consideration, Priority #1: you're automatically suspended for the season if you do anything more than fart on another dude's tootsies.
I'll say this for Windhorst: he is blinded by Ferry's greatness and is a sucker for bogus planted stories no matter what GM or agent plants them, but at least he's on the ball when it comes to obtaining his own information. If Marla Ridenour was the Plain Dealer's Cavs beat writer, she'd be finding out about West's court dates from Ric Bucher's leftovers or from some 20-year-old kid's fan blog.
I wonder if West will at least have the good sense to pack himself a plastic gun to fool the court's metal detector. Leave the steel heat at home, Delonte. And be sure to use rubber bullets.
"terje, I believe there is a difference between an O.K. Corral mixed in with jockstraps, and an old rich Jewish guy named "Abe," who, when he was alive, didn't take firm swift action after a basketball homie took a dump into another basketball homie's footwear."
yeah, there is a difference. that's why this enabler line from wojnorowski is bogus. because as you said, it's one thing to poo in a shoe and another to pack the arsenal with the gym shoes.
These two make this the most negative blog in Cleveland Sports. LMAO Alan and Terje….serious question. What do both of you LIKE to do when you're not assuming this computer identity? And does it involve as much vitriol as you both write in Pat's blog?
thall, maybe terry pluto and his legions of mindless drones would be a better place for you to get your whitewashed version of cleveland sports.
Thall, I'm so glad you asked. I can't speak for terje, but when I am not assuming this computer identity, I LIKE to gather in a circle with my fellow merrymakers, sing "Kumbaya," and then make macaroni pictures and popcorn necklaces.
Terje…it was a genuine question. Ease up on the computer toughness. I just wanted to know why you view Cleveland Sports in such a cynical fashion.
You too, Alan.
If you don't want to answer….Its cool….just say that.
you act like being cynical about cleveland sports is unusual. i'm with 33% of all cleveland sports fans. the other 66% consists of mindless zombies and defectors to steeler country.
The Steeler folks….LOL …that's frontrunner nonsense…They do that here in DC with the Redskins. Folks that used to root for the Skins are now Cowboys Fans. As for the mindless zombie stuff….I'm not local anymore so I am not sure you mean by that. If it means not questioning what the organizations say and what the writers write….I get that part. I just don't pay ANY of that any mind…what matters to me is how they perform on the field. Mo Williams last year said they were gonna beat Orlando….well…not when he was shooting 25% percent they weren't. I didn't rip him…I thought it was funny and kind of silly seeing that Alston was killing him all series. But I get your points. Thanks for answering.
I agree with terje to an extent. I doubt this was the first time Arenas had a gun in the locker room and it seems to me reporters enable athletes as much as anyone. It's like the indignation among baseball writers concerning steroids, pretending they had no clue from the mid-1980s on that steroids were rampant in baseball. Does anyone believe they're not rampant in the NFL now?
I wonder if most sports team owners aren't just fans who happen to be rich? Wojnarowski seems to be using Arenas to write about a grudge against fan-like owners. Fair enough — but as far as social commentary, doesn't everyone tend to think the best of those one is already inclined to and often get surprised later? You know — like they just need to stick with Quinn?
I think all sports commissioners react to headlines rather than foresee problems. Even Judge Landis didn't put in the policy of banning ball players for life for gambling on baseball until it happened ….
