Yes it will be cold tonight. Miserably cold.
Wind chills could be below zero.
It reminds me of the Thursday night/NFL Network game in Pittsburgh a couple years back when it was miserably frigid. It didn't bother the Steelers though, as they dominated the Browns (again).
If winds are as bad as predicted tonight, the team that runs the ball best could win the game.
Which really doesn't provide a lot of hope for those thinking the Browns might maybe be able to possibly pull off an upset.
It will be a cold day in hell when the Browns beat the Steelers again.
it's 8 deg out here and that feels warm compared to earlier in the week.
It's a good thing they exercised common sense and were forward-thinking enough to use some of my hard-earned money to build that new stadium with a retractable dome.
Terje …. you told me winters weren't bad out there!
common sense and the Browns……hahaha
It's sunny and 85 here today. It's always weird watching football games when it's cold and snowing – reminds me of my Ohio days. I miss Ohio, but not the cold and snow.
Alan, how is the Cleveland taxpayer going to afford a retractable dome stadium. Note how I said taxpayer, not taxpayers… does anyone live there anymore?
It's a moot point for a retractable dome now. What do you mean how? It's all of Cuyahoga County, not just Cleveland, and Lerner makes an annual fortune off of skimming sin taxes. Just because nobody lives in Cleveland, it doesn't mean nobody lives in the suburbs. If they had spent a lot more money to build a retractable dome, it would have paid for itself by allowing the place to be used year-round. But a greedy toad like Al Lerner wasn't going to put up any private money, so they didn't one up. So Randy still reaps an annual fortune off of sin taxes, and everybody else loses; the city, the county, everybody. Everybody but Randy.
That's ridiculous, no one wanted a retractable dome because it was too expensive and we didn't have an NFL team at the time. Don't make up stupid stories or rewrite the past.
Rewrite the past? Do you even know the past? The NFL guaranteed Cleveland an NFL franchise when a new stadium was built and completed. That was part of the settlement. What do you not understand about the word "guaranteed?"
I know that you're full of it. "guaranteed"….based on a vote by the populous and an owner who could pony the money for a new franchise.
I can "guarantee" you a new house, on condition that your credit is "good" and you have the finance.
pat, they are no worse than what you're getting right now. we don't have a big lake to contend with and it's a hell of a lot drier. no 4 foot lake effect storms in the valley.
-20 here feels like 10 in cleveland.
A franchise buyer was a given. And if you would have actually bothered reading what I said, I used the term "private money." But greedy billionaires, such as the Lerners, always prefer the spending to be public if they can get it. There is no reason in the world, other than pure greed, that nobody was willing to put up their own cash to build a retractable dome and make the stadium a public/private enterprise.
Millionaires, Billionaires, are that way cause they are greedy. I lived in Cleveland at the time and voted "NO". Mayor White returned from meeting the NFL brass and stated the city of Cleveland was getting a new franchise, it reminded me of that British PM that promised "Peace in our time" in 1939. Its not like anybody really had choice of what was going to be built anyway. Just like we have choice on what happens with the current Cleveland Browns coaching staff.
