Another take on Brady Quinn …

Writes Pete Prisco of CBSSports.com of Brady Quinn: He "didn't make the right reads when he was starting. If he doesn't do that, his arm can't compensate. He's then just a guy, on his way to bust-ville."

Pete may be right, but Brady at least deserves as much chance as the frikkin worst QB in the entire NFL to prove the naysayers wrong. Brady moved the team and scored last season, people seem to forget. If he hadn't, there wouldn't have been such an outcry to start him THIS year. But face it, Mangini's micromangling and absurdly-awful offensive "strategy" (I know, there IS no strategy) have handcuffed both QBs. No, D.A. couldn't possibly be the 34th (out of 32) worst QB in the league, *could he* ? Likewise, Brady isn't as bad as he showed in games 1 & 2.

But to continue down the same Mangini/D.A. road was absolute insanity. And as long as Mangoonie and his no-nothing cohort are calling the plays, unfortunately Brady won't be able to prosper, either. Mangoonie must go. And if he doesn't, I do hope Brady is moved, for the sake of his career.

"His arm can't compensate" makes this commentary confusing — because the writer was saying Quinn didn't have much of an arm, but had the smarts, and then said that maybe Mangini fell in love with Anderson's arm … then about if making the wrong reads, his arm can't compensate.

    So who's arm?

Isn't it obvious what the Browns are up to. They are focusing on next years draft being successful and creating a great team for 2010. Mangini is tying his success to the upcoming draft. He has kissed this year goodbye. If the Browns finish last, or near last, they will be getting some very good draft picks. So why bother trying to win games. They will be rewarded for losing. The only way to afford their contracts for next year's picks will be to free up millions of dollars this year, for example, $11,000,000 bonus to Quinn. It's so obvious to me what they're doing. Why aren't they just honest and straightforward and come out and state it?
