George Kokinis is no longer with the Browns. That much we know.
But the things that have leaked out about him are a tad distasteful. ESPN.com reported Sunday that the Browns wanted Kokinis to go to counseling because they felt he was becoming so distant. FOX's Jay Glazer said the team took Kokinis' cell phone so people around the league can't get in touch with him.
It seems that the Browns want to fire Kokinis for cause and not pay him, and Kokinis, naturally, wants to be paid.
Here's a solution: Get together, work out a deal, and move on.
The Browns can move on with a new person, and Kokinis (who is liked and respected around the league) can move on with his life. He deserves that much.
Tarnishing a guy's reputation is not going to help anyone, least of all the Browns because all it does is make them look small. The longer this situation lingers and is being discussed, the worse the team looks.
I'm not saying who was right, wrong, or in-between on the removal of Kokinis. I'm just saying that now that he's gone, it would be best for everyone to stop with the snide negative comments that are popping up here and there and just move on.
Be done with the entire thing.
And let the guy live his life and resume his career.
Who cares, you should spend some time covering a winner, the number one soccer team in the country, the Akron Zips
The Beacon's coverage of Akron Zips Soccer is disgusting; you should be ashamed.
The Zips have a soccer team?
I wonder who leaked the counseling thing, implying that he's a mental patient about to go postal. Why would any guy want to come work for the Browns knowing there's an unidentified chump within the organization that has no scruples about stabbing another guy in the back. It's gotta be for the money.
Pat, it's time for you and Alan to get together, work out a deal, and move on…….
First, Joyce, please stick to making dumb comments about terje. Second, I meant why would Holmgren, or anybody else for that matter, want to work for an organization where somebody leaks that kind of crap. About the only other place where something that unbelievably ridiculous is leaked is in Oakland. What's next, if Holmgren takes the job, two years from now will the same back-stabber leak that Holmgren enjoys wearing women's panties?
I think the Browns deserve an expansion-type draft at the end of this season as a thank you from the NFL, because once Mangini is bounced, he's done for good. I don't even think Al Davis would hire this psychopath.
Joe, soccer isn't even a sport. When kids here in the USA hit puberty they stop playing. That makes it equal to four square. Maybe even less important…
Firing Mangini isn't going to fire the leaker(s), Elizabeth.
Oh, and Joe, so long as ESPN has a reason to keep shoving the English Premiere League down peoples' throats, I think you're going to be wrong.
WOW, no room left for a national soccer trophy with all of the NBA, NFL, MLB, NCAA National Champions from NE OHIO. Soccer is a great sport if you have the talent for it, and if you understand the nuances of the game. Ignorance of the game is generally demonstrated by negative commentary. You can always change the channel, maybe you can watch that fishing channel.
I meant alan t.'s imposter is going to be wrong because of ESPN. I didn't mean Joe. Joe is both wrong and way too excited.
Soccer is boring. This is why nobody watches it unless their prepubescent child is playing it. It's like slow hockey for foreign people. I didn't even know that ESPN had the premier league. I didn't even know there was a premier league.
Yeah, there's an English Premiere League, and ESPN is forcing it down peoples' throats. Even an NBA guy like Marc Stein is constantly tweeting about the Premier League. Even an NBA maven like Bill Simmons has been nudged into following it. But to be fair, it is the NBA of the ball-kicking world, that's where everybody on the planet wants to eventually play.
And you've gotta be kidding me, alan t.'s imposter. You didn't know? Why do you think Randy Lerner sometimes wears those cute little shorts? His franchise is in that league. And unlike his domestic disaster, his franchise is actually pretty decent.
I meant Premier League. I misspelled it, I am sorry, I know you read this blog, Randy. No disrespect intended.
