Excuse for what? The Browns making an agent wait a couple hours, or Pat having nothing better in his professional toolbox than frantic googling for anti-Mangini quotes?

Hey, very good column and summation in this morning's paper. But I had a problem with some of those "M.O." remarks. Seemed like an unfair cheapshot. A non-disparagement clause in a separation and/or settlement agreement is par for the course in any line of business, never mind professional sports. I've had a few over the years, I'm sure you've had one or more, and I can't pretend to manage a lemonade stand, let alone pretend to manage an NFL franchise. That "M.O." of the Browns is not being slimy nor devious, you certainly are aware and know it's simply smart business. Nothing lowdown and dirty about it.

Yeah, I know you'd personally love Kokinis to spill the beans right here and right now. So would I. But we'll just have to wait for his tell-all book. With any luck Terry Pluto will ghostwrite it, and we'll be treated to 300 pages of George Kokinis' strong uncompromising faith while wagering a fierce battle in the face of unconscionable adversity. But unfortunately, Terry will be so totally gung-ho about the latter, that he'll completely forget to write about what George thought of Eric and his methods. So I guess we'll never know.

Cheap shot at Terry's faith Alan.

Uh … no, Tim. It was a cheap shot at what both his column-writing and his book-writing has become. A loofah has a sharper edge.
