alan, i don't think rammstein has a shot at pat's saturday pic after seeing the design for the new boxset.

sensitive eyes should refrain from clicking the link. it's not a dirty website or anything. it's a music site. but the rammstein box is….well, i knew there was a reason other than the music that these guys weren't for me.

terje, I already saw that last week. Tell you what, though, if the one or more childish fake alan t.(s) will identify themselves and post their addresses, I'll buy them the new boxset. Really. What they do with the accessories after receipt is up to them.

Hey, Pat, didn't you ever like Sweet or Suzi Quatro or Bowie as Ziggy Stardust or something like that? Some of this Saturday stuff is really boring white man lame.

Sweet or Suzi Quatro? Wow, you have as much taste in music as you have knowledge about sports.
To call DMB boring white man lame really shows your ignorance. To start, half the band is black…and Dave has more soul than your Average White Band.
DMB is one of the greatest live acts going. I've seen him several times, including this summer at Blossom.
If you would have left your Mom's basement in the last 20 years, you might realize their is some excellent music being made since the 80's.

having seen both average white band and dmb –dave doesn't even belong on the same planet as awb. while awb belongs on a heavenly planet inhabited by nude women and stocked with good scotch, dave's band should inhabit a desolate place far away from the rest of the civilized universe. sure, dave's band is technically proficient. but the listening experience feels similar to how those hooded dementor creatures in the harry potter books are described when they come after someone. blackness, cold and soul draining.

btw, sweet's "desolation boulevard" album is excellent.

Brian D., I realize that you were just a gleam in your daddy's eye, but Sweet, Suzi Quatro, Bowie as Ziggy, T-Rex, the New York Dolls … well, if you neither appreciate nor know that they paved the way for so many bands and so many individual musicians, then what else can I say.

And the vapid empty austere Dave Mathews Band has more soul than the Average White Band? You've gotta be kidding me. I know half the band is black. And Rod Carew is a Jewish convert. So what? The band itself plays like it's a white guy teaching a white high school music class. A vampire sucking all the life out of creativity and sucking all the creativity out of life.

What's next from you, the Ohio State Marching Band has more funk than Parliament-Funkadelic?
