I don't gloss over your main point. Writing "everybody but six people" isn't good writing. Implicit in the word "everybody" is that six people are not part of that everybody. It's silly to even talk about. At the time I was indifferent about it. I figured the Browns are usually like Jim Paxson, whiffing on first-round choices, so the GM gets so desperate that he trades away a future one because he's lost confidence in his ability to draft the right players. So technically, I guess this means you and I are two of the six. But it's still not worth talking about because I know what the guy's point was when he wrote it.

And, my point was that I wasn't alone in not heralding that pick. Not by a long shot. You did notice 21 other teams didn't see fit to use one 1st round pick on him; let alone two 1st round picks.

You also gloss over my main point — how can "everyone said" or "everyone agreed" ever be used in proper context when talking about a city or country?

Answer — it can't.

Two thoughts come to mind:

1) You clearly didn't watch those 10 quarters…

2) Where was he "jettisoned" to? Last I checked he's still being paid; I can't drive 10 minutes in a car without hearing his Chevy commercials, and to your own point it's just a matter of time until D.A. gets hurt and Quinn gets another chance. So his best bet is to stay ready, and when the chance comes again, take advantage of it this time.

So now I guess I'm no longer considered part of the "Northeast Ohio viewing area", because I certainly didn't "exult", unless that means yell at the TV using swear words.

I'm a big fan of your writing, but don't fall into the "everybody thought" or "everybody said" bag of intellectually dishonest statements.

You know, like the "everybody thought Saddam had WMD's" type crap.

You see where that got us.

What was I thinking, I will start off by apologizing to all of you that I have offended. I promise to engage in civil manner with of you, except you Brian D.
I'm in awe of your intellect. You have me intimidated, I react like a cornered animal.
Lets find out if the rookies can right the ship. There maybe five rookies starting next weekend. The two linebackers, two recievers and the center. If they play well then, there may be some hope for the future.

I don't get any joy about bashing a "fake" Alan, either. This stalker clown is nearly as creepy as the guy that kidnapped that girl and then had the Brady Bunch with her.

By the way, Belichick didn't do anything to Kosar, except for being absolutely 100% correct about him. The most overrated player in Bravens history, by far.

By the way, Tebow will not make it big in the NFL. Brian D. is right. If the Southern Cal guy can't make it, then forget Tebow.
