Why are you comparing the coaching carousel of the Raiders to the coaching carousel of the Browns? There is no valid comparison. The Lerners are Laissez-faire and give carte blanche and always hire the wrong people in the first place. It's certainly not because they're impatient, it's because they don't know what they're doing.

Al Davis, on the other hand, is a senile tyrant who runs every aspect of the operation, rules with an iron fist, has the personality and the patience of Mussolini if the train ran late, and goes through head coaches like George Steinbrenner used to go through managers and Taco Bell customers go through rolls of toilet paper.

Davis hires the least qualified guys because nobody but the desperate want to work for him. The Lerners hire the wrong guys because they know how to hijack an American football franchise, but they don't have a clue how to run one.

So what does ridding a team of Mangini's stench have to do with the Raiders? Nothing, that's what.

You know it could've been A. Shell's staff that hired the retired OC. Yet, the Raiders subscribe to your coaching carousel theory, that "flavor of the month" attitude. I've read many of your posts, why are they always negative? Doesn't the sun shine once a dogs a**?

Marc Trestman was out of the league and retired? Interesting. Bill Callahan hired somebody in Oakland? Interesting. Not the least bit true, but interesting. And yeah, I accused Brian D. of doing the same thing a few days ago … appears the two of you would make a good WWE tag team. I type Lerner and Snyder, and you bring up Bill Callahan. I was unaware that Bill Callahan used to own the Raiders, and was unaware that anybody else but Al Davis hires 100% of the Raiders' coaches. That's because Bill Callahan didn't own the Raiders, and that's because Bill Callahan never hired anybody, let alone offensive coordinator Marc Trestman, both of whom Davis promoted from within, let alone Callahan never hired an offensive coordinator kidnapped from a cute New Hampshire bed and breakfast along with that adorable couple from "The Sopranos," Vito and Johnny Cakes.

But anyway, thanks for the knowledge, even if it was bad knowledge. At least it took you away from your alan t. and terje graffiti for a few minutes.

You should've used Raiders as a reference. Didn't Callahan hire a guy who'd been running a bed & breakfast for six years to be his OC.

Speaking of what I wrote above with "BINGO!" (you do know how to play BINGO, don't you, Rich G.?), Dan Snyder appears to be as much of an imbecile about professional football as Lerner. What's the deal with that guy Snyder? He hires an offensive coordinator to try to force his own head coach out, a guy who has been out of the league for five years and was actually calling BINGO games when he was called? On the sanity level, it would be like hiring Mangini to be both your head coach and GM by proxy, but just slightly more insane.

no surpise that an idiot bringing up that belichick comparison had to hide under your name alan. because the comparison is absurd, moronic, mindless and flat out WRONG.

belichick was defensive coordinator under parcells for FIVE years before he became head coach in cleveland.

contrast that with mangini's ONE year under belichick as d coordinator.

bill belichick went back to parcells for FIVE more years after modell canned him.

contrast that with mangini's ONE minute between jets and browns gigs.

all people who think that mangini and belichick are a valid comparison should turn on the car, close the garage door and breathe deeply because you are stealing our oxygen.
