Troy Smith is a back up QB. The Heisman Trophy has absolutely nothing to do with Pro potential or pro success, as most of the winners have found out.

If I'm not mistaken, Troy Smith won the Heisman Trophy just a few years ago and has done as well in the NFL as any qb from a spread offense college program that I can think of. Alex Smith was woefully unprepared. Even the enormously untalented Krenzel got some playing time in his rookie year, so pro coaches must have thouth he had some decent preparation. Pryor seems a lot more talented than Smith, but so far just is just real inconsistent. Maybe he just doesn't have it.

pro-style offense? start listing the QB's in the NFL that came from Tressel's offense. funny! Please, Pat, you gave in to Drew; humor me and do something with the two weirdos, Alan and Terje. It's become an embarrassment to this site.

Ironic that now a "pro-style offense" is a college offense. The Wildcat. I don't even know what a "pro-style" offense means.

If Pryor wanted to play in a spread offense, he would have gone to Michigan. Tressel convinced him that Ohio State's pro-style offense would better prepare him for the NFL. It was a decision based on future earnings.

That said, a spread offense better suits Pryor and would open up some nice running lanes for him.

it's hard to know who's exactly to blame regarding pryor. rumor has it the guy has the intellect of a rock and tressel has had to simplify the offense below the usual caveman level to accommodate pryor.
