Alex Smith was woefully unprepared. Even the enormously untalented Krenzel got some playing time in his rookie year, so pro coaches must have thouth he had some decent preparation. Pryor seems a lot more talented than Smith, but so far just is just real inconsistent. Maybe he just doesn't have it. Tressel convinced him that Ohio State's pro-style offense would better prepare him for the NFL. It was a decision based on future earnings.
