So I've got a Fantasy team that is woefully short of running backs, but pretty well stocked at receiver.
I've been offered Steve Slaton of Houston for Randy Moss of New England.
I throw it open for discussion. Do you make the deal?
(Please respond by early this afternoon … league rules require this trade be completed by early afternoon today.)

No, nix the deal. Houston is way too inconsistent both in performance and in the way they balance their passing and rushing. Moss will put up numbers over the course of the season. Counter the offer with Moss for a name RB with a good team. Remember the fantasy rule: you want rbs from good teams and wrs from middle to bad teams.
Bill … I countered Moss for Cedric Benson, which I thought was pretty fair though at the moment Benson clearly is doing more, and he laughed and said no way. I will say my backs are not a team strength.
hard to tell without seeing your whole team. who else u got at wr? id say on paper thats a fair trade if you are desperate at rb. but u dont wanna shortchange yourself…
Both Slaton and Moss are under-valued right now. Overall, I'd take Slaton, but Moss should have a break out second half of the season. Guess it depends on your other receivers/rbs.
I would probably do it. Slaton has a favorable schedule with games against the NFC West and soon D's will have to focus more on Houston's passing which will open it up for him. As a fellow Moss owner, I'm very concerned with Brady’s ability to hang in the pocket and wait for the long Moss routes to develop. Welker and Watson underneath seems to be the only thing Brady is comfortable throwing. I do not see Moss turning it around in the second half.
Two questions though, who is your new starting WR if you trade Moss and are you in a points per reception league? PPR gives Slaton a nice bonus.
Here's my roster, which I post lovingly. Suppress laughter please. Also, no PPR in our league … TDs and yards only:

Pat,
I've been the Commish of my FF League for 25 years. I drafted Moss in the first round, so I'm hoping he starts putting up some big numbers, but in your case I would make the deal. Buckhalter is hurt and Parker, coming off an injury, may have lost his starting job to Mendenhall. You need RB's in a bad way and you are strong at the WR position. I'm assuming that TE's are considered WR's in your league as well since you list Gonzalez with your other WR's. I think it's a no brainer for you.
If you don't believe me, here is an on-line trade analyzer's opinion (I'm assuming it's a 12 team league)…

"Overall, I think Team 2 (other team) is giving the most in this deal. The margin appears to be a significant difference. Team 2 should decline this trade.
Steve Slaton is the most valuable player involved in this trade.
In a 12 team league, I would recommend being careful about trading away my top RB. If Steve Slaton is top RB on Team 2, then they might be wise in reconsidering this trade."
I like having as many players as possible on high scoring teams…Houston is 8th in points scored and slaton is their top RB.
2 Bills in your receiving corp? What were you thinking? You can either wait out a T.O. trade or send him packing instead.
I kept Braylon Edwards and he's about to payoff.
"you want water in your whiskey?"
"when I want whiskey, I drink whiskey. When I want water, I'll drink water"
Make the trade, Quiet Man.
By my count, half of that talented roster has, in real-life, a diva attitude. They wouldn't last a month with the Browns.
