In praise of the ex-Jets

Nine spots on the Browns 53-man roster are made up of ex-Jets.

That's 16.98 percent of the roster.

How's it work with the GM having final say in personnel matters?

I challenge anyone to find a big play made by any of these ex-Jets the first four games.

Perhaps it's even time to rank the contributions of the ex-Jets and go one-through-five in listing who's the best.

Here’s the first:

5) David Bowens … 12 tackles. In four games!

4) Jason Trusnick … a tip to the Ohio Northern guy.

3) Eric Barton … 30 tackles … but many missed.

2) Kenyon Coleman … rave reviews for his work ethic

And the No. 1 ex-Jet on the Cleveland Browns …

1)      Abram Elam … 31 tackles, solid support of Eric Mangini.

abram elam is an inspiration to sex offenders around the country.

but hey, isn't it great that braylon is gone?

9 Jets players? I thought it was 10.

And actually, that's a valid point. Elam is registered on the Internet by governmental agencies as a convicted sex offender. Edwards, on the other hand, is only registered on the Internet as a guy who happened to give a Three Stooges-type tap to a convicted druggie in the face. One of those sex offender lists I've seen even published the makes and models of Elam's cars and the license plates of Elam's cars. I can't recall if it was the one in Florida or the one in Ohio. I guess that's published for parents. You know, just in the event that Elam suddenly gets the urge to drive to a playground to give Mangini's daughter some candy on any day other than Halloween.

Have any of the guys that they replaced made big plays? Did they replace anyone ?

What's your point, Sean. It's pointless to compare turds. And that's the problem. Mangini is systematically replacing turds with turds. Is Mangini replacing the missing with the starting 11 from the Patriots, or is he replacing the missing with scrap and waste happily volunteered by bad teams?
