Maybe this is why LeBron James wanted to keep his options open in 2010

The NBA has another billionaire.

Russia’s Mikhail Prokhorov has bought the Nets, and most expect him to be a force in the league – especially with next summer’s free agent class. You might recall that class includes a certain guy named James.

Wrote Yahoo: “Once LeBron James meets Mikhail Prokhorov, the superstar’s sightline will reflect an unprecedented visage. When offering a global vision of business and basketball, here’s an NBA owner who can look James in the eyes. Russia’s richest man is 6-foot-7 with an air of cool and a tenacity of the streets. For James, there’s a chance that Prokhorov won’t seem like a stranger from a faraway place but rather a reflection of himself. Together, they are creations of their own industry and connected through a need for global conquest.”

James, Chris Bosh and Dwayne Wade might be smiling a little more today than they were two days ago.

I HAVE HAD SIGNIFICANT EXPOSURE, VIA U.S. AIRFORCE INTELLIGENCE, TO THE RUSSIANS. I WOULD URGE, GENERICALLY SPEAKING, EXTREME CAUTION IN DEALING WITH THEM AT ANY LEVEL.

CP YOU ARE CORRECT, IT DID END – HOWEVER IT ENDED HERE / IT DID NOT END THERE. SHOULD YOU QUESTION THAT, I RESPECTFULLY REFER YOU TO CNN (i.e., CNN 9/23). MY EARLIER COMMENT, HOWEVER, DID NOT REFERENCE, NOR WAS IT IN RELATION TO, THE 'COLD WAR'.

it's basketball, dude, not the cold war…………and, Lebron, is gone.

Lebron won't go anywhere. Cavs can offer more than anyone else. Larry Bird clause. End of discussion.
