You make MORE than enough money to afford a bodyguard (or 2 or 3 even!) why not let them bear the arms…get a driver too you idiot and stop riding around on a trike cutting off canine cops in marked cars….please!!!! I just heard you have some psychological issues as well….that possibly explains your behavior….SEEK PROFESSIONAL HELP!!!

I personally enjoyed the sentence about "the right to bare arms." I guess that's OK, except for chicks with hairy arms. That's pretty repulsive, if you ask me.

So it's okay to break the law as long as you don't hurt someone?

I'm all for the right to bear arms. But they need to follow the law when carrying those arms. Riding on the freeway with loaded weapons is not a right, it is a felony. He should know that it is wrong. Laws are in place for a reason. If he was riding legally and carrying legally I have no issues with the guy.

Certain people really get under my skin. Americans we are often stupid and very judgmental about things we often know nothing about. It's time to stop being hypocrites about things that don't directly pertain to you. If it was one of us that was the target of so called thugs, out here struggling and willing to do anything for a quick buck, then the right to bare arms would be no issue. On the other hand, since it's a professional athlete with millions which happens to be black it's now a problem to have a gun. My majority Americans argue everyday for the right to bare arms, but you are so quick to judge when a minority is caught with a loaded gun even though he's harmed no one. Give me a break! Unless your in the public spotlight with millions, then you wouldn't understand. Athletes and public figures are not like you and I. I'm am not saying this because the athlete is black, but I am saying this because we as Americans should have a little more common sense when it comes to this issue. If an athlete was carrying loaded guns and harming innocent Americans, then I would definitely have a problem with it. Until then, it's none of our business.

But it's really not too difficult nor wrong to judge this, it's black and white. Is possession of marijuana legal in Maryland? No. Is driving on a highway armed like a crazed mercenary legal in Maryland? No. So why was Delonte West in possession of pot and driving around Maryland like an armed lunatic? What's the difference between this idiot and any of the "good guy" idiots on the old Portland Jailblazers? There is no difference. But if West was caught smacking his dog in the nose with a rolled up newspaper, fans would riot.

Give me a break. He was busted with pot last summer, and was busted doing his impression of Chuck Connors in "Soylent Green" this summer. The law is the law. He's a head case, but he knows the law. He also lives in a $1 million dollar house and drives a Batcycle. Not bad. "He's from the 'hood" is an excuse equivalent to blaming 9/11 for me having perpetual gas.

The Cavaliers supposedly value guys "with character." And this guy sure is a character. But because the PR folks at Cavs Central always say one thing but do another, they'll spin it all in his favor because it's in their interests to spin it in his favor. They'll spin it that they're the nurturing supportive type of organization, just like they did when he went to get his prescriptions filled last year, and blah blah blah. If Gibson wasn't such a stiff, they wouldn't think twice before sending out feelers to see who would possibly accept their guy in exchange for the other team's problem child.

If Delonte feels the need to carry 3 firearms then let him carry them, ITS HIS RIGHT!! I personally live in a STATE where I can carry 10 loaded fireams and usually do… So just cause all you paranoid people are afraid of guns go crawl back into the hole you came out of! Rock on DElonte

its so amazing to me how many people judge other people based on THEIR own lives when everyones life is different how many of u knws how it feels to be rich famous and come from nothing before he was rich and famous, if he feels he needs it, well ill put it how i was taught "better to be caught with it than without it"

Joyce, of course Delonte West is no John Lennon. My point is that along with the adulation and perks that celebrities receive, they also attract criminals and the mentally ill, who equate fame with access. That woman who thought she was David Letterman's wife, John Hinckley , and, yes, the clown who shot John Lennon, are good examples. The people who suggested bodyguards and bullet-proof cars have the right idea, but maybe Delonte is a do-it-yourself kind of guy.
